PPI R8 Razor GTR: Set to be unleashed at the Top Marques Show in Monaco

The Razor GTR was initially unveiled at the 2008 Essen Motor Show, but the new PPI R8 Razor GTR will be a step up from what we have seen earlier. Set to make its grand appearance at the Top Marques Show in Monaco, the car will be taken for a test drive on the Monaco Racing Track and one sure hopes that its 580hp engine with maximum torque of 600Nm and a top speed of 332km/h puts on an impressive show out there. The changes on the R8 include a carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium in order to reduce weight and improve performance, better aerodynamics and new interiors prepped up using Onyx Nubuck leather highlighted in orange. With a sprint time from 0-100 km/hr of just 3.7 seconds, cool look, plush interiors and great aerodynamics this could steal the show when the curtain lifts at Monaco! [via WCF]

BMW X6 M Gets Official

Although not official until yesterday, the new BMW X6 M has just been unveiled on the Internet. Expected to be unveiled on April 9th in New York, the new X6 M definitely looks and IS aggressive. Packed with technology that will make you shell out a lot to park it on your alley, the brute is going to feature a 4.4 liter V8 power plant with twin-scroll turbochargers and should put out nothing less than 550 hp. And although it’s heavy it should do 0 to 100km/h in a bit below 5 seconds and a top speed of 155mph, which is actually amazing. With a 6-speed M Sports Automatic transmission with full automatic mode as well as M driving mode and a Dynamic Performance Control system for better grip, the X6 M is definitely a car many have been looking for … [via Autoblog]

The Amazing 2009 NISMO 370Z

It was just a mere matter of time before the Nissan 370Z Coupe got its NISMO update like all the performance cars from the company that came ahead of it. While most of the tuning up has been done outside the hood and on the body of the car, the 3.7-litre V6 engine under the NISMO 307Z’s hood unleashes 350 hp at a torque of 5200 rpm; a step up from the 332 hp output of the same engine in the Coupe version.

With aerodynamics taking precedence the body structure is very tight and rigid and is shaped to give the best possible handling. With extended front nose, chin spoiler, special side sills, vertical door handles, rear spoiler and wide fenders and a profound aerodynamic wind at the back, you are most likely to either like or hate this one.

The interiors though are surely appealing with include a radio/CD audio system with four speakers, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Start and automatic climate control… Now, let’s wait for the unveiling and the price tag!

Jeep Unveils 2011 Grand Cherokee

As it officially stepped out for the first time at the New York Auto Show, the 2011 Grand Cherokee from Jeep seems to have garnered a very mixed reaction. While some love it for the innovation, boldness and different look, others just feel that the exterior killed its charm.

Powered by either a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with 280 hp or a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 360 hp, the new Grand Cherokee is also available with a diesel option for international users outside the US. The most impressive aspect of the latest from Jeep is the three different four-wheel drive systems, a Land Rover-like Select-Terrain system with five different modes (Sand/Mud, Sport, Auto, Snow, and Rock), and an available Quadra-Lift air suspension system which can either raise the vehicle for maximum ground clearance or lower it for improved aerodynamics. And that definitely keeps it perfectly in-line with the company’s tradition.

But the front-end is the one that is raising eyebrows with small grille, headlights, and fog lights seem tiny compared to the vehicle’s overall size. The rear also looks anything but passable at best making this a bit of a step backwards. While the interiors look pampering with extra leg room found at the back, your liking of the 2011 Grand Cherokee will purely depend on your styling tastes

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) has made the formal announcement that the new MG6 Concept will make its first official debut at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. Sporting an angular front-end with large air intakes, aggressive side sills, and a striking character line which runs from the front headlights to the rear taillights, this five-door hatchback will get the aggressive styling and flowing design of a four-door coupe. Speculated to be powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine from the Roewe 550, one will have to wait till the curtain rises to find out more on what lies under the hood of MG6 exactly. Considering this is a stop priority for the company, expect this to be quite an event indeed, when it does happen!

Rumormill: Bugatti Royale could make a stunning Debut at Frankfurt

If what is going around on the inside lanes of the auto world is supposed to be true, then this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show could be a very significant stop for every car lover in general andBugatti lovers in particular. Apparently the company is planning on launching a new ultra-luxurious and evolutionary step ahead for the Veyron in the form of what is being called theBugatti Royale. It is not just the grand Royale though that is doing rounds as even a car named “Lydia”, is apparently being chalked up by the makers for the future. Lydia is slated to be a super supercar that will top the Veyron in every aspect (including the price tag) with a turned-up version of the current 8-liter quad-turbo W16 engine powering it. We will have to wait on both of them for now! [autoblog.com and autoweb.cz]

Renault Laguna Coupe, Estate and Hatch Black Editions

It seems that Renault has decided to launch a Coupe Black Editions following the success of the Hatch and the Estate Black Editions. But the latest from the French automaker’s stable—Laguna Coupe Black Edition, comes with nothing except for a few simple cosmetic changes that slightly alter the looks of the car. Available with three metallic paints, including Pearlescent Black, Cassiopee Grey and Platine Grey, 17-inch Talisman aluminum alloys, twin chrome exhaust pipes, hands-free Renault Card automatic door lock/unlock and engine start-up system and also a few entertainment options in the form of 40W 3D sound system built by Arkamys, the car is pretty smart and includes Bluetooth, CD, MP3, and an audio connection box.

But no changes under the hood mean that you still need to live with the 2.0-liter dCi engine with 150 hp (and that seems to be a bit of a dampener). With 0-100 km/h in a leisurely time of 9.5 seconds, the €29,500 spent on the Coupe Black Edition is more for the looks than performance… Let’s see how well the latest special version from Renault fairs!
